Technical Tour
The tour will include a welcome from Bill Redelmeier and a presentation on sustainable viniculture by Bruce Taylor (pictured at right; see biography). Bruce is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the founder of Enviro-Stewards, which is a "Best for the World" classified B Corporation, recipient of Global Compact Canada’s SDG Goal award, and the only Canadian company to win a Global SDG award.
The technical tour on Thursday, June 4, 2026 will be an all-day tour by bus to visit sites in the Niagara region of southern Ontario. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Southbrook Vineyards winery.
The visit to the winery will include a light lunch, a welcome and a presentation, and a tour of the grounds. After the Technical Tour, the bus will make the short trip to Niagara Falls for a viewing of the falls (30 minutes maximum).
Please note that the Technical Tour cannot accommodate individuals who have challenges with mobility. There will be a nominal charge for the tour of USD$25.00 plus 10% tax. Space is limited, so we will accept the first 50 registrants (or their guests) to sign up for the Technical Tour. The bus will leave the Chestnut Conference Centre at 9:00 AM and will return in the early evening. Since the time for return cannot be guaranteed, please do not make any travel plans for the evening of June 4.
Southbrook Vineyards is Canada's first certified organic and biodynamic winery. The owners, Bill and Marilyn Redelmeier, have developed the winery as a 150-acre property, with 67 acres of vines (see map) and have established environmentally-sustainable features, including a treatment wetland for the winery process water.
