Call for Papers

The call for abstracts will open on September 1 and will close on December 15, 2025.

Platform and poster presentations will explore various aspects of the themes and special topics listed below:

  • Effects and impacts of micropollutants on organisms, populations and communities.

  • Removal of micropollutants in water and wastewater treatment systems

  • Monitoring and analytical methods

  • Transformation pathways and modeling

  • Risk assessment, regulatory approaches and risk communication

 

Special Topics

  • Advanced Oxidation Processes (a session organized by the AOP Specialist Group of the IWA)

  • Micropollutant classes in focus (see the list of micropollutants that are of special interest)

  • Climate change impacts (see the subjects related to micropollutants in a changing environment)

  • Transport of micropollutants between terrestrial and aquatic environments (see the varied research areas covered by this topic)

  • Emerging, AI and data-driven approaches (see the list of cutting-edge methods and strategies)

About the Conference

Every two years, the IWA Micropol and Ecohazard conference brings together colleagues from around the world to hear about the latest research developments on the fate and effects of micropollutants in water, wastewater and drinking water, including technologies for removing these contaminants from water.
